The defeat hit KKR hard and proved to be the worst Wednesday nightmare. Andre Russell ( 22 ball 54) & Pat Cummins (34 ball 66*) put a great show with 6 sixes each. . Dinesh Karthik joined the fray and supported his team by adding (22 ball 40). The sliver lining that KKR did take back home from the defeat was the rising of Cummins as the all-rounder.
Du Plessis stayed unbeaten at 95 off 60 balls as CSK took on KKR with zero mercy. CSK went all out with big guns with a staunch total of 220/3, ripping KKR’s defence apart.
In the second inning, CSK came with greater vigour and hungry to end the game in their favour as quick as it can get.
Chahal struck with challenge and had KKR fall for 4/29.
KKR struggled at 31/5 as the powerplay concluded. They put up a good fight however fell through the cracks. KKR stood at 202 in the 20th over.
CSK won by 18 runs
