IOC institutional meetings prior to and during the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games – Information for the media

Olympic Winter Games

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will hold a number of institutional meetings in Milan prior to and during the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, which will take place from 6 to 22 February 2026. There will be media opportunities around these meetings.

Institutional Meetings
IOC Executive Board (EB) meeting: 31 January – 1 February, and 20 February at The Westin Palace Hotel (OFH).

During the meeting, the EB will receive updates on the activities of the Olympic Movement, IOC commissions and IOC administration, as well as reports from the Organising Committees for upcoming editions of the Olympic Games.

Inauguration of the Olympic Truce Mural: 2 February at the Olympic Village in Milan.

The inauguration of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Truce Mural will take place in the Village Plaza in the International Zone of the Milano Athletes’ Village.

Opening of the 145th IOC Session: 2 February at the Teatro alla Scala.

145th IOC Session: 3-4 February at the Allianz MiCo, and 22 February at the OFH.

The 145th IOC Session will be bringing together IOC Members to address strategic priorities under Fit for the Future, as well as key topics around the Olympic Movement, including governance, financial reports, and anti-doping measures. IOC Members will also receive reports on the activities of the Coordination Commissions and Organising Committees for upcoming Olympic Games, including Milano Cortina 2026, Los Angeles 2028, and future editions through 2034, as well as Youth Olympic Games. The agenda also includes proposed amendments to the Olympic Charter and reports from the IOC Members Election Commission.

Media Opportunities
Photo and moving images opportunity at the beginning of the EB for an agency pool on 31 January at 09:00 CET*.

As per standard practice, the EB meeting is closed to the media. It will be covered by the International Olympic Photo Pool (IOPP) for photographs and moving images at the start of the meeting for the opening remarks.

Two IOC Press Conferences:

Following the IOC EB meeting on 1 February at 15:00 CET* at the Main Press Centre (MPC).

Following the 145th IOC Session on 4 February at 18:30 CET* at the MPC.

Both press conferences will be held in hybrid format.

Inauguration of the Olympic Truce Mural with the IOC EB and the IOC Athletes’ Commission (AC) at the Olympic Village

The inauguration of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Truce Mural will take place in the Village Plaza of the Milano Athletes’ Village on 2 February at 11:30 CET*. The IOC President, Milano Cortina President and IOC Athletes’ Commission members will be present. As the ceremony is happening in the International Zone of the Village, the media will have access without pre-registration. Media Rights-Holders are able to film the ceremony, while non-Media Rights-Holders can access only without filming equipment. Moving images will be made available to them via an IOPP pool and a Video News Release by the IOC. In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held inside, and the space for the media will be limited and given on a first-come, first-served basis.
