Belgium Mens hockey Olympic Champion

Silver Medalist winner of Rio 2016 Olympics, Team Belgium won their 1st Men’s Hockey Olympic Title defeating Australia by 3-2 in Shootout , played at Oi Hockey Stadium North pitch, at Tokyo after Final match of quarter ends at draw of 1-1 .

The final match was a close , very tough fight , 1st & 2nd quarters ended at 0-0 score . The Belgians got 3 penalty corners during the match but unfortunately not able to convert it into Goals but soon took lead of 1-0 with a straight hit converted into a magic goal , of forward Florent Van Aubel within 2 minute of in 3rd quarter created more pressure on Australia team .

Australia got 1 penalty corner , failed to turned into Goal but equalized the score with the goal of Tom Wickham in 4th quarter , bringing the match to Shootouts.

The Australia team was reduced to 10 for some time as James Denial was shown Green Card by Umpire .

The Belgian team won in shoots outs by 3-2 , with a remarkable job done by the golie, Vincent Vanasch & emerged as Olympic champion.
