They have started to reduce the gap between women and men cricketers. The BCCI has decided to give the same salary to women players as men athletes cricketers. In this era of equality women and men players were paid differently this reduce the equality amongst them
Previously women were given 4 lakh in a test series 1 lakh for the one day match and 1 lakh for t-20 which has been changed to 15 lakh for test series 6 lakh for one day and 3 lakh for t-20 series.
BCCI chief Jai Shah gave this news via social media posts for the increase in women’s cricketers salary .He also said this would bring equality amongst the players .
Many players were excited to listen to the news.
Mitali Raj, previous Indian captain of the female cricket team, commented that this is a historical event and also asked for equality to happen in the women’s ipl . She commented about the starting of a new era in women’s cricket.
Players seem to be very excited but we still have a long way to go even though the salary has been increased for the matches. The difference exists when it comes to the annual salary given to the players. The board has not given any directions regarding it. Hopefully it will happen as quickly as possible.
