New Delhi, 19 March 2021: Siddharth Malakar, the 90kgs champion from the Pro Panja ranking tournament held in Delhi is all set to take on the Pro Panja Mega Matches-1 Mega Champion Sunil Kumar in the main event of the Pro Panja Mega Matches-2 in Goa on Friday, 19 March 2021. Asia’s biggest Arm Wrestling tournament, brought by Swen Entertainment in partnership with IOS Sports and Entertainment, will take place just before the main event fight between Vijender Singh and Artysh Lopsan on the rooftop of the Majestic Pride Casino Ship.
The Pro Panja Mega Matches-2 will also feature the Under-65 kg Champ Chetna Sharma, who will take on second seed Parmpreet Kaur of Punjab.
During a press conference held on Thursday, Malakar expressed that he is very proud to face off against Sunil on Vijender Singh’s Battle on Ship, “I am very happy to be here, and the way things have been arranged in Goa. This event is so professional in the sense that there’s a photoshoot and a press conference. I had never experienced anything like this before.”
The arm wrestler added that he will give Sunil a tough fight on Friday, “Sunil Phaji is the No.1 Arm Wrestler in India and I respect that, however, I have trained hard, and I haven’t made any specific changes to my training regiment. I am fully confident that I will give him a tough fight.”
Meanwhile, Sunil said that he is very excited to take part in the Pro Panja Mega Matches-2, “I am feeling very excited to be a part of this event and I would like to thank Parvin Dabas (owner of Pro Panja League) and Preeti (Jhangiani) (owner of Pro Panja League) without whom, I wouldn’t be able to participate in an event like this. I have been competing in Arm Wresting for years now and I have never seen anyone promote the sport like he has.”
Sunil added that he is confident of defeating Malakar on Friday, “Siddharth Malakar is a strong player, and I am sure that he has come well prepared for me. I have been training hard and I am confident that I will defeat him.”
Parmpreet, who is fresh off a win over Delhi’s Karishma Kapoor at Pro Panja Mega Match-1, expressed that she is very excited about performing on the same stage as Vijender Singh.
“I am very happy with how the Pro Panja League has done events so far. I have competed in a lot of events before, but no one even comes close to what Parvin Sir and Preeti Ma’am have done for Arm Wrestling in India. The way they have supported me, I would say that they have supported me more than my parents. It feels like I am a VIP and the fact that I am going to perform on the same stage as Vijender Singh is just mind blowing.”
