Ahmedabad, 15 November 2025: The official jersey for the 9th edition of Adani Ahmedabad Marathon was unveiled in front of fitness enthusiasts and members of the city’s running community at Palladium Mall on Saturday. The unveiling featured a striking artwork made from 15,000 recycled plastic bottle caps, reflecting an exceptional convergence of creativity, sustainability and patriotic spirit –‘an ode to our tricolour’.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Wani collaborated with Adani Sportsline to invite designs from city residents with an aim to blend local ideas with his storytelling-driven design sensibilities. The result is a vibrant creation that celebrates the marathon’s core cause, #Run4OurSoldiers, while capturing Ahmedabad’s cultural spirit.
Sanjay Adesara, the Chief Business Officer, Adani Sportsline, said, “With the unveiling of the official jersey of the 9th Adani Ahmedabad Marathon, we mark an important milestone. I would like to express my gratitude to Aaquib Wani for designing this jersey in collaboration with our community. The design beautifully captures the marathon’s growing legacy and the city’s creative energy.”
The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon has been part of the AIMS Global Marathon Event List and continues to champion its social cause of honouring India’s armed forces.
This year as well, the run will start from the Sabarmati Riverfront Sports Park, with routes passing through Ahmedabad’s landmarks, including Atal Bridge, Gandhi Ashram and Ellis Bridge. The event will be held on November 30 and will have four categories — Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km and 5 km runs.
About Adani Ahmedabad Marathon
The marathon, an initiative of the Adani Group, is an expression of solidarity towards the brave-hearts of India’s armed forces. The marathon took its inaugural stride in November 2017 and completed its fifth lap in November 2021. It has earned runners’ affection for offering one of the most picturesque routes in the world. The race categories include full marathon, half marathon, 10 km run and 5 km run. The races, which attracted nearly 20,000 participants in the first two editions, saw over 17,000 participants in the third and fourth editions. Post-Covid, the Ahmedabad Marathon was the first to organise a physical event by devising time-slot based systems that permitted over 8,000 runners to participate in 2021 over two days while adhering to COVID-19 norms.
In 2022, the Ahmedabad Marathon made it to the ‘Global Marathon Event List – AIMS World Running’, Ahmedabad’s only run to be featured on this global list. In 2024, more than 20,000 participants had joined the #Run4OurSoldiers event in solidarity of our armed forces.
The “#Run4OurSoldiers” campaign is its distinguishing feature. It presents a unique opportunity for participants to pay tribute to our soldiers. More than 3,000 defence personnel participated in the run last year. A major portion of the proceeds goes for the welfare of the armed forces.
