Your Body Is The Temple Of The Holy Spirit

Soul and Spirituality 1

Your Body Is a Temple, And Your Soul Is The Holy Spirit

In John 2:19-21, “Jesus said, ‘Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it.’

The above quote means that irrespective of which religion you pick, whether Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Christianity, etc, the message is loud and clear that you as a person are not the body, not the mind, not the thoughts, not the emotions. You are a soul, a holy spirit, a piece of God on this earth.

As hard as it may be, there is a piece of God in every single life on this earth, including animals and plants. Just because you and I are not open to it or can not experience it yet doesn’t mean this is not the truth.

How To Experience The “I Am” Within You?

St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 6:19 teaches, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit…?”

For yogis who have practiced Hatha yoga or meditations for years, this dimension of life has opened to them, and they have experienced the true nature of the “I AM,” i.e., the soul’s true nature. This is called Soham or Tatwamasi in Sanskrit and Eieh in Hebrew.

This is the reason that you have to take care of your body as it is the abode of God, i.e., in order to make this incarnation successful, your soul needs a healthy functioning body to fulfill its responsibilities and reach its goal.

Small Steps To Take Care Of Your Body: To Remain In Touch With The Divinity Of The Self

You can start with some simple activities like:

Now to attain mastery over yourself, you need to practice yoga,, and if it is overwhelming for you, then you can start with easy exercise and gradually prepare your body for yoga.

Breathing Exercises:
Learn and practice mindful breathing exercises. This will help you achieve mastery over your thoughts, emotions, and bring peace, clarity, and improve sleep, especially for those who struggle with insomnia.

Sleep Quota:
If you follow the above 3 steps closely and correctly then within a few weeks, you will find a significant drop in your sleep quota and you will be very active with just 5-6 hours of sleep, and without the use of an alarm, you will be able to wake up in Brahma muhurta.

Addictions:
Addiction is the result of a multitude of factors like bad company, dealing with emotional toil, stress, etc. There may be many reasons to fall into it. But the most powerful way to come out of any addiction is understanding the very crux of this article, i.e., your body is the temple of abode. You can not damage it or dirty it with compulsions. Today, addiction has taken a different shape, i.e., it is not just limited to smoking, drinking, drugs, gambling, or prostitution; rather, it also includes compulsive gaming, addiction to social media, OTT platforms, etc.

Hence, it is high time, the right knowledge and understanding of who we are reaches the people so, they can act in the right manner and also aid their families and children to become addiction-free because already a lot of young children and youths are today struggling with addictions, worst is many are not even aware about it.
