Why should you be spiritual

Why should you be spiritual

What is spirituality? What does it mean to be spiritual? What are the benefits of being spiritual?
What are the myths revolving around spirituality and most important of all who can be spiritual and what are the steps of being spiritual?

I will be your guide, your companion, for 30 days where we together will be exploring the entire process of being spiritual. And with each day break we together will unravel a part of ourselves which will transform our entire psyche.

Now, let’s begin. It is time to travel to distant lands to learn to appreciate what we already have.
What is the aim of spiritual teaching and learning?

When we start practicing spirituality in our daily lives through meditation and yoga, it awakens our senses and soul to the lives revolving around us. We become more sensitive, more aware and more compassionate.

It dispels the clouds that blur our perceptions in order to see the things, people, and situations as they are, instead of shaping it in forms that exist only in our heads.

We start developing deeper connections and care for all the creations of God, may it be a child, a dog, a flowing river or a blade of grass. We feel the interconnectedness of the Universe. And when one is hurt, the other feels the pain. When one is happy, the other experiences happiness. We can not run away or escape from this cycle. But after starting on the spiritual path, we stop and take actions to make others’ lives better and in turn bless ourselves.

It fills us with an uncanny sense of ecstasy and contentment. We are full of exuberance all the time. Happiness and smiles become an indispensable part of our personality.

Spirituality opens a new dimension into our lives. We start getting successful at whatever we do from cooking dinner at night to increasing the turnover of business by multifolds to monetizing the talent God gifted us with.

When our body, mind, emotions and energy are better organized we become limitless. We see life straight into eyes without any diversions and wake up with zeal and passion for life every dawn.

Miracles become the way of our living. Even the simplest of actions fills us with immense joy like taking an evening walk on similar lanes, watching leaves with blowing winds, night blooming to morning, listening to birds chirruping, greeting strangers and making everyone smile on the way.

One of the myths revolving around spirituality is that the main aim is to attain moksha or salvation. But once we begin, we realize that gems lie on the road, and the mere process of enjoying, learning and developing each day fills us with purpose.

Another very popular myth is prediction or astrology. We all want to know our future from some scholar who has deep knowledge of the position of the revolving planets, with the time and place of our birth, and our name. But today I ask you this, what is the need to know the future?

To be prepared for the upcoming problem. To be able to take it well. And that’s the whole point of being spiritual. It teaches us to be content in not knowing, to be thrilled in uncertainty, to be peaceful in the most chaotic of times.

And the last is an insight on the suffering of the human race. Buddha said Suffering is an inevitable part of human life and also one of the noble truths. We can never escape it. And the more we try to stop it, the harder it clutches our soul.

But meditation brings an end to it. As it helps us to clear our vision and see things distinctly so we do not suffer anymore. We are released. We become limitless.

And this is what it means to live a spiritual life. To be content. To be happy. To be full of life. To
be full of love. Until we die…
