1. American Airlines (AAL) announced a code-sharing agreement with India’s largest airline IndiGo on 28 Sep, with the U.S. airline gearing up to launch new flights between the two countries.

2. SpiceJet To Restart B-737 Max Aircraft From October, Ending Ban Of Over 2 Years.

3. World’s great philanthropist Bill Gates has congratulated Prime minister Narendra Modi on the national launch of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Mr Gates said the digital health infrastructure will help ensure equitable, accessible health care delivery and accelerate progress on India’s health goals.

4. Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said : the Dubai Expo 2020 will further strengthen India-UAE relations especially exports.

5. The Taliban-controlled Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has written to Indian aviation regulator DGCA to resume commercial flights between the countries. The last commercial flight between India and Afghanistan was operated by Air India on Kabul-Delhi route on August 15, the day Kabul fell to the Taliban. Afghanistan airspace was declared “uncontrolled” by the CAA on August 16.

1. Japan’s former Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida has won the governing party leadership election and is set to be the next prime minister. Kishida replaces outgoing party leader Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.

2. The United States is seeking more information on North Korea’s recent testing, including its hypersonic missile test, but remains keen to resume diplomatic talks.

3. The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) of Bangladesh arrested the Chief Operating Officer and two other officials of the e-commerce company Dhamaka in Dhaka on 29 Sep on charges of cheating the customers and fraudulence.

4. Jihadist group killed six Sudanese intelligence officers. The government had blamed the attack on militants from the Islamic State (IS) group. But a jihadist group calling itself the Movement for Preaching and Combat said it had killed the Sudanese officers and denied any links with IS.

5. In Afghanistan, the Taliban have asked the United States to stop operating drones in Afghan airspace, Terming the US move a breach of national security, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid asked all the nations to act in accordance with mutual obligations to prevent consequences.

6. North Korea has reportedly fired a short-range missile towards the sea off its east coast. Earlier this month Pyongyang has also test-fired both ballistic and cruise missiles. The test occurred as North Korea’s ambassador said at the UN that no-one could deny Pyongyang’s right to self-defence and to test weapons.
