UK air traffic control glitch fixed, disruption from cancelled flights to persist
The network-wide failure of UK air traffic control computer systems was “identified and remedied” by Britain’s National Air Traffic Services (NATS) but the disruption caused by the cancellation of hundreds of flights is expected to continue into the week.

1. Britain’s National Air Traffic Services (NATS) said that they have fixed the issue that has caused a network-wide failure but a significant flight backlog remains. It said, the issue with UK Air traffic control system was ‘identified and remedied’.

8. 🇦🇫Afghanistan’s, the Taliban government has banned women from visiting the Band-e-Amir National Park in Bamiyan province. Acting Minister of Virtue and Vice, Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, said women had not been wearing hijab inside the park. He called on religious clerics and security agencies to forbid women from entering until a solution was found.
9. Russian officials have confirmed the death of Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, after genetic analysis of bodies found in Wednesday’s plane crash.
10. Protests over high electricity bills, which started first in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir on August 3, have spread across Pakistan. People reeling under high prices of essential items have taken to the streets and there are calls for a civil disobedience movement.
