1. Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to New Delhi on December 6 for the 21st India-Russia Annual Summit with PM Modi. This will be the first face-to-face meeting between the two leaders after their meeting on the side-lines of the BRICS Summit in Brasilia in November, 2019, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced.
2. External affairs ministe S Jaishankar and defence minister Rajnath Singh will hold talks with their Russian counterparts in Delhi on December 6 in a first-of-its-kind “two plus two” format.
3. Vistara to resume flight services to Singapore
:: Full service airline Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, on Friday said it will resume international flights to Singapore from next week folowing the government’s recent move to resume flights to the South East Asian nation under the bilateral air bubble agreement.
4. Former Nepal Prime Minister and Chairman of opposition party CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli has vowed to “take back” Indian territories of Kalapani, Limpiyadhura and Lipulekh if he returns to power. This statement was made during his address at the inaugural session of the General Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist in Chitwan.
Tensions between New Delhi and Kathmandu arose last year after the issuance of the revised political map by Nepal as India had included the tri-junction in its map issued in November 2019.

1. WHO asks countries in southeast Asia region to scale up surveillance, strengthen public health and social measures, and enhance vaccination coverage to contain a new variant of Covid19, called Omicron.
2. A suspected case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 has likely been found in Germany, a Regional minister said on Saturday. First discovered in South Africa on November 24, Omicron has been declared as a ‘Variant of Concern’ by the WHO. Cases of the new variant have also been identified in the UK, Botswana, Belgium, Hong Kong and Israel.
3. The Chinese J-20 fighter flew with a domestic engine for the first time in public this week, according to several media outlets. Two of the Chengdu Aerospace Corporation aircraft executed aerobatic maneuvers at the 13th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai in Guangdong Province,
4. The Chinese military on Thursday, November 25, 2021, asked the US to stop ‘close-in reconnaissance, interference, provocation’ in the disputed South China Sea after the recent accident involving an American nuclear-powered submarine in the region.
5. After Pegasus Spyware Controversy, Israel Removes 65 Countries From Its Cyber Export List. Mexico, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are among the nations that have been dropped from the cyber export list, Israeli financial newspaper Calcalist reported. The number of countries allowed to purchase software reduced from 102 to just 37.
India, on the other hand, continues to figure in the list despite allegations that it had used the Pegasus spyware, developed by Israeli tech firm NSO Group, to snoop on journalists, activists, and opposition leaders.
