1. The govt on Friday issued a statement after the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) criticised the life imprisonment sentence given to Yasin Malik in a terror funding case. Calling the Islamic nations group’s comments “unacceptable”, India said, “The world seeks zero tolerance of terrorism and we urge OIC not to justify it in any manner.”
2. India on Friday delivered over 25 tonnes of medical supplies to Sri Lanka as part of its ongoing efforts to provide aid to the country amid an economic crisis.
The supplies also include kerosene for use by Sri Lankan fishermen, the High Commission of India in Colombo said. “These supplies will be distributed among the beneficiaries in…coming days,”
3. India was and is an important stakeholder in Afghanistan, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said on Friday and called for enhancing the capability of the war-torn country to counter terrorism and terrorist groups which pose a threat to regional peace and security.

4. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on International Solar Alliance (ISA) with the Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto in New Delhi on Friday.

1. World Health Organisation has said that countries should take quick steps to contain the spread of monkeypox and share data about their vaccine stockpiles.
2. Argentina on Friday reported Latin America’s first confirmed case of monkeypox in a resident of Buenos Aires province, according to The Associated Press. The man had travelled to Spain recently, according to authorities. Notably, nearly 200 cases of monkeypox have been reported in more than 20 countries so far, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.
3. Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said Ukraine was not eager to talk to Russia’s Vladimir Putin but that it has to face the reality that this will likely be necessary to end the war.
