6. *GARUDA AEROSPACE TO SET UP DRONE FACTORY IN MALAYSIA WITH HIILSE DRONES*

HiiLSE Drones founder and CTO Shanmugam S Thanggavilo said the manufacturing plant in Malaysia will reduce costs and help in creating 3,000 jobs India’s Garuda Aerospace on June 22 announced that it has teamed up with Malaysia-based HiiLSE Drones to set up a 2.42 hectare drone factory in Malaysia.

7. The Central government is working to roll out e-Passports to make easier international travel and enable protection against identity theft and greater data security, the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said.

1. South African police are investigating the deaths of at least 22 people at a nightclub in the coastal town of East London.

It is unclear what led to the deaths of the young people, who were reportedly attending a party to celebrate end of winter school exams.

2. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that the world is facing the real risk of multiple famines this year. In video message to the Uniting for Global Food Security ministerial conference in Berlin, he said, 2023 could be even worse because of the growing shortage of food around the globe.

3. US President Joe Biden signs the breakthrough gun safety legislation, one of the most contentious policy issues in Washington.

The legislation came together in the aftermath of recent mass shootings at a Uvalde, Texas, elementary school and a Buffalo, New York, supermarket that was in a predominantly Black neighborhood. The house on Friday passed the bill by 234-193, including 14 Republicans voting with Democrats.
