US Federal Reserve interest rates hit 20-yr high in battle against inflation surge. Its benchmark lending rate by a quarter percentage point to a range between 5.25% and 5.5%. This marks the highest level since 2001, as the central bank grapples with soaring inflation. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) emphasized that it will continue to evaluate economic data before deciding on further monetary policy actions.

1. The British government has opened its second ballot under the UK-India Young Professional Scheme. This is a scheme for Indians aged between 18 and 30 years with graduate-level qualifications for visas to the United Kingdom.

9. *SPACE X, led by Elon Musk, is gearing up to launch the world’s largest private satellite, named JUPITER-3, on Thursday.* This remarkable satellite will be lifted into space by SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A in Florida, marking the seventh launch for the powerful triple-booster rocket.
