1. External Affairs Ministry has said that the first batch of stranded Indians have left Sudan under Operation Kaveri. INS Sumedha with 278 people onboard has departed Port Sudan for the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah. INS Teg has also joined Operation Kaveri.

2. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh on Tuesday left for London on a six-day visit. The Minister is visiting as the head of a high-level official Indian delegation.

3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar reached Panama on 24 April. He held discussions with Foreign Minister of Panama Janaina Tewaney Mencomo.

4. Border Roads Organisation has put up a signboard at the entrance of Uttarakhand’s Mana village along the Line of Actual Control with China reading “First Indian Village Mana”.

5. Sri Lanka appreciated India for offering support to evacuate stranded Sri Lankans from Sudan amid ongoing violence in the country after the warring factions entered into a 72-hour ceasefire agreement.

1.United States President Joe Biden has officially launched his campaign for re-election in 2024, becoming the Democratic frontrunner in a race that could pit him for a second time against Republican contender Donald Trump.

2. Bangladesh recently announced its 15-point Indo-Pacific Outlook (IPO), envisioning a free, open, peaceful, secure, and inclusive Indo-Pacific. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s tri-nation visit to Japan, the USA, and the UK prompted the announcement of the IPO.

3. American singer, activist and actor Harry Belafonte passed away on Tuesday aged 96. Harry, who campaigned for black civil rights in the US, died of congestive heart failure at his New York home.

4. A research rocket launched by Sweden Space Corporation from Esrange Space Centre in northern Sweden malfunctioned and landed 15 km inside neighbouring Norway on Monday.

5. Mongolia’s first oil refinery, built and funded with Indian assistance, will be completed by 2025, said the country’s Ambassador Dambajav Ganbold.
