qatar court accepts indias appeal against death penalty for 8 indians

A Qatar court has accepted India’s appeal against the death penalty to eight former Indian Navy personnel, who were handed the sentence last month in an alleged case of espionage. Sources said that the Qatari court will set a hearing date after examining the appeal.

1. US authorities have reportedly thwarted a plot to kill Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun on American soil. Officials are also believed to have issued a warning to India about its possible role in the matter. The development comes mere days after the National Investigation Agency booked him for threatening Air India passengers.
