INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. 14th BRICS Summit gets underway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls for mutual cooperation among BRICS nations in global post-COVID recovery.

2. An Indian technical team has reached Kabul and has been deployed in Indian Embassy there in order to closely monitor and coordinate the efforts of various stakeholders for the effective delivery of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.

3. Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra-led-delegation held discussions on Sri Lankan economy and the road to its recovery with Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo.

4. PM Modi met Chairman of Foxconn, Young Liu in New Delhi. In a tweet, PM welcomed their plans for expanding electronics manufacturing capacity in India, including in semiconductors.

🌎WORLD NEWS🌍

1. Kuwait’s crown prince dissolved Parliament on 22 June and called for early elections. However, the date for legislative elections was not immediately announced. The country’s Cabinet resigned two months ago over disputes with Parliament, resulting in a prolonged paralysis.

2. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says, his govt will hold Donor Conference with India, Japan & China to tackle financial crisis.

3. The World Health Organization (WHO) meeting on 23 June: Discussion on the monkey pox virus outbreak, and decide if it warrants being declared a global health emergency.

4. Australian PM Anthony Albanese on Thursday said that he will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in France next week to “reset” bilateral ties between the two countries.
