1. PM Modi embarked on a two-day visit to Japan on Sunday evening to attend a summit of the Quad leaders at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida.
The Quad summit is aimed at bolstering cooperation among the member nations of the influential grouping and discussing developments in the Indo-Pacific region.
2.PM Modi, US Prez Biden to have discussion on Ukraine situation during a bilateral meeting in Tokyo on May 24.
3. Delhi-born businessman Sunil Chopra has been elected as the Mayor of the Borough of Southwark in the UK’s London for the second time.
4. The Annual Meeting of World Economic Forum began on 22 May at Davos in Switzerland. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will lead the Indian delegation at the five-day meet.

1. The WHO has released the number of monkeypox cases reported in non-endemic countries between May 13 and 21. Spain, UK and Portugal have 21-30 confirmed cases.
2. The UK wants to send modern weaponry to Ukraine’s neighbouring country Moldova to protect the latter from Russian threat, UK’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has reportedly said.
