1. UN General Assembly President Volkan Bozkir has commended India for a ”rich” programme of work during the country’s presidency of the UN Security Council in August when high-level open debates on maritime security, peacekeeping and threats to international peace and security by terrorism will be among the highlights.

2. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet PM Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi on July 27-28 with Af-Pak, Indo-Pacific and vaccines on top of the agenda. All official meeting are scheduled on July 28.

1. Russia, which has given the world the likes of MiG and Sukhoi, has unveiled a new fighter aircraft named ‘Checkmate’. The aircraft will compete against US’ F-35 in the international market.

2. US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley has said the Taliban have got momentum in the past ten months and now control half of the districts in Afghanistan.

3. Two passenger jets from low-cost carrier FlyDubai & Bahrain-based Gulf Air collided with each other on the taxiway at Dubai International Airport early 22 Jul (Thursday) morning, though authorities reported no injuries in the incident.
