1. Experts from India and USA discussed the challenges and opportunities to combat climate change through technology-led Carbon Capture and Utilisation solutions (CCUS) at the Indo-US Scoping Workshop on Carbon Capture.

1. US and Japan have agreed to boost cooperation on pressing economic and security issues, including China, North Korea’s missiles, and Russia’s threat to Ukraine. The decisions were taken in a virtual meeting between President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

2. At least 7 killed after bomb blast hits minibus in Afghanistan : At least seven people were killed and nine others were injured after a bomb blast hit a minivan in Afghanistan’s Herat, officials said. “Initial reports indicate it was a sticky bomb attached to the fuel tank of the passenger vehicle,” an official said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack

3. Death toll from Saudi-led airstrike on Yemen prison reaches 82 : Yemen’s Houthi rebels and an aid group on Saturday said that the death toll from a Saudi-led airstrike on a prison in Saada killed 82 detainees. This comes after Houthis claimed a drone and missile attack on Abu Dhabi earlier this week. The airstrike marked an escalation by the Saudi-led coalition against the Iran-backed Houthis in the ongoing civil war.

4. Chile President-elect Gabriel Boric on Saturday announced his first cabinet, naming 14 women out of 24. Among the newly elected representatives, 35-year-old prominent doctor, Izkia Siches will be Chile’s first woman Interior Minister. Former President Salvador Allende’s granddaughter, Maya Fernandez was appointed as Defence Minister. Boric will take oath as Chile’s youngest President on March 11.
