1. The Taliban fired in the air and used batons to make people line up in orderly queues outside Kabul airport. A NATO official said that at least 20 people have died in the past seven days in and around the airport. Some were shot and others died in stampedes.
2. Seven Afghans have died in the chaos near Kabul airport as the British defence secretary expressed support for extending Washington’s end-of-the-month deadline to permit the evacuation of so many people.
3. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he will convene a meeting of leaders from the Group of Seven nations on Tuesday for urgent talks on the situation in Afghanistan. The UK holds this year’s presidency of the G-7 nations, which is also made up of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.

5. Panjshir on Taliban Target, ‘Hundreds’ of Fighters Out to Capture Valley of Resistance. Panjshir had been a resistance stronghold against the Soviets in the 1980s & then against the Taliban in the 1990s.
Hundreds of Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate are heading towards the state of Panjshir to control it, after local state officials refused to hand it over peacefully.
