1. Pakistan’s media watchdog has reportedly ordered TV operators to stop airing Indian channels warning that strict action would be taken against them otherwise. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on Friday ordered its regional offices to conduct enforcement drives on reports of such violations. Pakistan has banned Indian films and TV channels several times in the past.

2. A day after 34-year-old Indian mountaineer Anurag Maloo was found alive in critical condition on Nepal’s Mount Annapurna, a video of his rescue has surfaced online. The video shows renowned Polish climber, Adam Bielecki, rescuing Maloo from a crevasse in Annapurna

7. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has refused to sign into law a bill that criminalises identifying as LGBTQ and prescribes the death penalty in some cases. Homosexuality is already illegal in Uganda.

8. Street battles in Sudan capital as Eid ceasefire calls ignored. More than 400 people have been killed and thousands wounded since the fighting erupted Saturday between forces loyal to Sudan’s army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his deputy, Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, the commander of the powerful paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) who is commonly known as Hemeti.

9. US military prepares for possible Sudan embassy evacuation. The Pentagon is moving additional troops and equipment to a Naval base in the tiny Gulf of Aden nation of Djibouti to prepare for the possible evacuation of U.S. Embassy personnel from Sudan.

10. Oliver Dowden will become UK’s next deputy prime minister while British lawmaker Alex Chalk will replace Dominic Raab as the new justice minister. Raab, who held the posts of deputy prime minister and justice minister, resigned following a report into claims he bullied colleagues.
