1. After assuming the G20 Presidency next month in Dec 2022, India will take over the Chair of Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, GPAI.

2. Bangladesh PM Shaik Hasina expects oil import from India through the 130-km long India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) will begin from next year.

2. United States Vice President Kamala Harris met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the APEC summit in Thailand. Xi Jinping said, the meeting with President Biden in Bali, Indonesia, was strategic and constructive.

3. Nepal votes to elect new Parliament and Provincial Assemblies. Millions of Nepalese began voting on Sunday to elect a new parliament and provincial assemblies amid tight security, hoping to end the political instability that has plagued the country for more than a decade and impeded growth.

The polling started at 7 am local time at over 22,000 polling centres and will close at 5 pm.

The counting of votes will begin from 9 pm on Sunday amid tight security, Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said.

4. Pakistan-Afghan border in Baluchistan, remained closed for yet another day as both sides failed to arrive at a consensus on reopening the crossing. The Pak-Afghan border at Chaman was closed for an indefinite period after an armed man opened fire from the Afghan side.

Two Islamist extremists, who were sentenced to death for killing Bangladeshi-American secular blogger Avijit Roy and his publisher, escaped from the premises of a court in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Sunday. The duo escaped with the help of two unidentified bikers who sprayed a chemical on police personnel.
