1. The seventh round of the India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission was held in New Delhi on 19 June. It was co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and his Bangladesh counterpart Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen.
2. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday gave PM Modi’s letter to members of the Afghan Sikh community living in India as he participated in the last rites of Sawinder Singh, a Sikh man who was killed after Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISKP) attacked Karte Parwan Gurdwara in Afghanistan’s Kabul city.
3. ISKP released a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. According to ISKP, ‘Abu Mohammed al Tajiki’ carried out the attack which lasted for three hours. The group claimed that besides submachine guns and hand grenades, four IEDs and a car bomb were also used in the attack.
4. Over 150 Sikhs In Kabul Still Waiting For Visas to Come To India.
Several blasts were reported near the Sikh shrine, in the latest targeting of a place of worship of a minority community in the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. India has slammed the “cowardly attack”.
