1. Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai met with PM Modi on 19 Dec in New Delhi and assured his support India’s G20 presidency and making an open connected internet that works for all. Pichai – who is on a visit to India – also shared the stage with Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw earlier in the day at Google for India 2022 event, where he spoke on artificial intelligence and Google’s vision for the future.
2. The government is giving full support to the Indian crew members of a ship detained in Nigeria. India has sought the help of Nigerian authorities to complete the legal process for the speedy release of 16 Indian crew members of a cargo vessel who have been detained since August.
3. India, Sri Lanka to start passenger ferry service between Puducherry, Kankesanthurai port in Jaffna district next month.
