1. An Indian Parliamentary delegation led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be attending the 65th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPA) at Halifax in Canada.
This conference is scheduled to be held from 20 Aug to 26th of this month. The Conference will also be attended by 23 Presiding Officers and 16 Secretaries from State Legislatures from India who are also members of CPA.
2. The 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas 2023 will be held at Indore in January next year.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet said that Secretary, Consular, Passport and Visa Division, Ausaf Sayeed and Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Iqbal Singh Bains signed a Memorandum of Understanding for hosting the Pravasi Bhartiya Divas.
3. Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri participated in Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s NSAs meeting in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
4. External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will pay an official visit to Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina from 22nd to 27th of this month.
5. Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday expressed that his country wishes to have ‘peaceful ties’ with India, which will include a ‘just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute following the relevant UNSC resolutions.
6. Captain Zoya becomes 1st Indian female pilot to be added to US Aviation Museum.
She was the first Indian woman pilot to fly an aircraft above the North pole covering a record-breaking distance of around 16,000 km.

1. Powerful storms have battered areas of central and southern Europe, killing at least 12 people. The deaths, most from falling trees, were reported in Italy and Austria, and on the French island of Corsica.
2. Indonesian president Joko Widodo has said China’s Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin both plan to attend the Group of 20 summit in Bali in November.
