Canada’s British Columbia announces state of emergency amid `worst wildfire season`
As the worst wildfires in Canadian history continue to rage, the province of British Columbia announced a state of emergency to deal with the natural calamity.

1. The Youth 20 Summit-2023 under the framework of G20 Presidency of India began in Varanasi: Summit to be held from 17th to 20th August, 2023.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday said that Pakistan’s decision to appoint Mushaal Hussein Mullick as a Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on human rights. was “an indication of a sabotage plan in Kashmir”. Ms. Mullick is the wife of jailed Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik.

7. Agnikul Cosmos to soon launch India’s first kerosene-oxygen-powered rocket : Indian firm Agnikul Cosmos is on its way to becoming the first in the country to privately design, develop and launch a liquid-fuelled rocket.
