To counter China in Indian Ocean region, India plans 175-warship Navy by 2035

The Navy now has 68 warships and vessels on order, collectively worth an estimated Rs 2 lakh crore, in line with India’s continuing quest to build a stronger blue-water force to protect its huge geostrategic interests as well as counter China’s ever-expanding footprint in Indian Ocean Region.

1. Canadian trade mission to India postponed indefinitely due to trade talks suspension and concerns over pro-Khalistan activities.

The five-day Team Canada trade mission was to be led by Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development Mary Ng and begin on October 9.

1. World Patient Safety Day, observed on the 17th of September every year, serves as a global platform to emphasize the importance of patient safety in healthcare systems worldwide.

2. President of European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen visits Italian island of Lampedusa after Italian PM Giorgia Meloni asked for EU help on migrants crisis.

3. Fourteen people were killed on Saturday when a plane crashed in the Brazilian Amazon in the northern town of Barcelos, a popular tourist spot. Amazonas state Governor Wilson Lima said the plane was an 18-passenger EMB-110, a twin-engine turboprop manufactured by Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said the country was being placed under unsustainable pressure as a result of the migrant influx.
