1. A WTO panel ruled that India violated trading rules in a dispute with European Union, Japan and Taiwan over import duties. The panel was set up to decide India’s move to levy 10% customs duty on IT products in July 2017 which it increased to 15% and then to 20%. EU accounted for 10.8% of total Indian trade in 2021.

2. India to table “Millets And Other Ancient Grains International Research Initiative (MAHARISHI)” proposal in G20 Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists (MACS), at Varanasi.

1. Sudan Crisis: Army to gain upper hand in bloody power struggle with rival paramilitary forces, at least 200 civilians killed. EU ambassador to Sudan ‘attacked’ amid violence.

2. The fighting erupted on Saturday between army units loyal to General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, head of Sudan’s transitional governing Sovereign Council, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, who is deputy head of the council.

3. British PM Rishi Sunak is being investigated by the British parliament’s standards watchdog. It’s being probed whether he properly declared his wife Akshata Murty’s shareholding in a UK-based childcare company which stands to benefit from the new government policy.

4. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to say, “Learned a lot today,” after the firm postponed its first launch attempt of the world’s biggest rocket Starship. The firm said it will be a minimum of 48 hours before it can make another attempt. Starship is designed to carry humans and cargo to Moon and Mars.

5. Protests broke out in Kansas City after a homeowner shot a black teenager in the head for going to the wrong house to pick up his twin siblings.

7. A Moscow court to hear appeal by lawyers of jailed Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich to lift his pre-trial detention.

8. Finland’s next-generation Olkiluoto 3 nuclear reactor, the largest in Europe, has gone into regular production.It is the most powerful nuclear reactor in Europe, with a capacity of generating 1,600 megawatts. It covers approximately 14% of Finland’s electricity demand.

9. US diplomatic convoy fired on in Sudan amid power struggles, says Blinken, adding that initial reports suggested that it was carried out by forces associated with Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
