1. Nepal PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will seek a vote of confidence in the parliament on March 20 amid ongoing political crisis. This would be his second floor test in three months after the CPN-UML withdrew its support to the Dahal-led government, which has turned the government into a minority one. Dahal cleared the previous floor test with 268 votes.

2. Microsoft unveiled AI-powered ‘Copilot’ system for its Microsoft 365 suite that consists of apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. Copilot will help users create presentations based on prompts, summarise key points discussed in a meeting and draft emails, among other things.

3. China has accused the United States of spreading disinformation and suppressing TikTok. This comes after the US asked the app’s Chinese owners to sell their stakes or risk a ban.

4. UK government has banned China’s ByteDance-owned TikTok on all government devices with immediate effect. The ban has been imposed over concerns regarding how the app collects and uses sensitive data.

5. Swiss National Bank (SNB) confirmed on Thursday that it will provide liquidity to Credit Suisse against sufficient collateral. Credit Suisse will be borrowing nearly $54 billion from Swiss National Bank.

6. A Pakistani judge said he would stop attempts by Islamabad Police to arrest ex-PM Imran Khan if he surrendered before court.

7. Indonesian government’s pilot project to start schools from 5:30 am onwards in the provincial capital of East Nusa Tenggara has received criticism from the children’s parents. The project, which seeks students of Class 12 to attend school earlier, commenced in February.

8. At least 11 people were killed in an explosion caused by accumulated gas in various connected coal mines in Colombia’s Sutatausa.

Google has stopped selling the enterprise edition of Google Glass, the company’s augmented reality (AR) glasses. It will also stop releasing software updates for the device starting September 15.
