1. The second Culture Group meeting under G20, is taking place in Bhubaneswar. It kicked off on Sunday and will continue till Tuesday.

2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says talks with Pakistan will not happen if it continues to support terrorism.

3. India and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States have taken significant steps towards a new Trade and Partnership Agreement.

4. Pasang Dawa Sherpa, also known as Pa Dawa, successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest for the 26th time, equaling the record set by another Nepalese guide.

1. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday (May 15) said that he was “very positive” about creating a “jet coalition” after his meeting with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Zelensky arrived in UK on Monday.

2. Thailand’s two main opposition parties agreed, on Monday (May 15) to form a ruling coalition after winning the elections over the weekend against the military-backed rivals who have been in power for nearly a decade.

3. In Myanmar, at least three people have been reported killed, as the powerful cyclone Mocha has hit the coastlines of Bangladesh and Myanmar.

4. New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins said that at least six people have been killed in a fire that broke out in a hostel in central Wellington in the early hours of Tuesday (May 16).

5. Worshippers were attacked in a church during mass on Sunday (May 14) as the fighting between Sudan’s army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been going on for a month.

6. The United States said on Monday (May 15) that Russia and Iran are “expanding their unprecedented defence partnership”. The Ukraine war prompted the West to impose sanctions on Moscow, and after that, Russia ramped up ties with Iran.

7. Poland defence minister said on Monday (May 15) that the country has received first batch of US-made HIMARS rocket launchers. The country has said that it has plans to deploy the rocket launchers in the region bordering Russia.

8. Former White House advisor Amy Pope is set to become the first woman to head the United Nations’ migration agency after she won the vote, on Monday (May 15) in Geneva against the Portuguese incumbent Antonio Vitorino.

9. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on former PM Imran Khan to join the investigation into the Al Qadir Trust case.

Pakistani court on Monday granted bail until May 23 to ex-PM Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi in Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. Notably, Khan was arrested last week in the same case and was later granted bail.

10. Islamist fighters killed three soldiers from Nigeria and Niger and injured 12 others on Sunday.
