INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. PM Modi talked with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong over the phone.

The two leaders complemented each other on the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam being celebrated this year.

2. EAM S Jaishankar discussed global impact of Ukraine conflict, especially on food and energy security with UN chief Antonio Guterres.

3. The External Affairs Minister also spoke with the Secretary-General about the latest developments in respect of Afghanistan and Myanmar.

1. The death toll from a tropical storm in the Philippines has risen to over 130. Emergency crews are still trying to locate dozens of missing people.

2. Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route fully opens for tourists in Japan: The route, which stretches for more than 37 kilometers, links Tateyama Town in Toyama Prefecture and Omachi Town in Nagano Prefecture. It contains roads, a ropeway system, and cable car systems.

3. Russia said, it will respond to any Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory by striking Kyiv with more missiles. Russian Defence Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

4. World Art Day is observed every year on 15 April globally. This day is being celebrated all over the world to emphasize the importance of art that nurtures creativity, innovation and cultural diversity for all peoples across the globe. The day was declared by the International Association of Art (IAA), an NGO working in official partnership with UNESCO.

5. Pakistan’s economy is in doldrums and people of the country may face another blow as the prices of petrol and diesel may go up by Pakistan Rs 83.5 and Rs 119 per litre respectively.
