1. India would be assuming the presidency of the G20 at the upcoming G20 Heads of State and Government Summit scheduled to take place in Bali. ( 01 Dec 2022 to 30 Nov 2023.)
2. G20 remains one of the world’s most influential economic multilateral forums. Given that its members represent more than 80% of the world’s GDP and 75% of international trade, G20 holds critical significance in securing global economic growth and prosperity, especially amidst global economic challenges such as stagflation.

1. Twitter shareholders on Tuesday approved Elon Musk’s $44-billion bid to buy the social media platform. Twitter said that the measure passed based on a preliminary count, adding that it will provide a final vote count to shareholders at a later date. Musk in July announced that he was calling off his bid to buy the firm.
2. Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin will lie in state in London for four days ahead of her funeral on September 19. The English oak coffin is said to be crafted at least 32 years ago, AFP reported. It’s lined with lead in accordance with royal family customs. The lead lining assists the body to last longer after burial in a crypt.
