zelensky writes letter to pm modi seeks humanitarian aid participation

INTERNATIONAL NEWS

1. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking additional humanitarian aid including medical equipment from India.

2. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar inaugurated the first foreign campus of India’s National Forensic Sciences University in Jinja, Uganda on Wednesday.”

3. India on Wednesday raised concerns on the misuse of the United Kingdom’s asylum status by pro-Khalistani elements to aid and abet terrorist activities in India and requested better cooperation with the UK.

4. The India-Canada Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) on April 11: India and Canada have agreed to enhance momentum in commercial ties, and strengthen cooperation in science and technology, energy, education, consular issues, counter-terrorism, and streamlined mobility, according to Ministry of External Affairs.

5. 2nd Women 20 (W20) two-day International Meeting to begin in Jaipur meeting to bring together 120 women leaders from across 18 G20 countries to address gender inequality issues & promote women’s economic empowerment globally.

6. Ukrainian government said it has decided to permit international medical students, including aspirants from India, to appear for the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE) from their native country.

1. Sweden has closed its Embassy in Islamabad for an indefinite period of time due to the “current situation” of Pakistan.

2. The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) announced that the Rashid Rover, onboard the HAKUTO-R Mission-1 Lunar Lander (developed by a Japanese company), is scheduled to land on the Moon on April 25 at 8:40 pm (UAE time).The landing date is subject to change depending on operational conditions.

3. Christians in Pakistan are paying for being a minority in Pakistan. Incidents of minorities being assaulted and tortured keep coming from across Pakistan. Apart from Balochis and Hindus, incidents of targeted killings of Christians have also surfaced.

4. European Space Agency (ESA) to launch Juice mission from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana to explore Jupiter & its icy moons.
