1. Sixteen Indian crew members of cargo vessel Oil tanker MT Heroic Idun who were in detention for over nine months in Equatorial Guinea and Nigeria have returned to India after Government’s negotiations with Nigerian authorities.

1. Marriages in China slump to historic low amid falling birth rate.
Marriages in China dropped in 2022 to lowest level since records began amid falling population. As many as 6.83 million couples completed their marriage registrations last year in China, down about 800,000 from the previous year. In 2022, China’s population fell for the first time in six decades. China’s birth rate fell last year to 6.77 births per 1,000 people.
