ukraine says no longer insisting on nato membership

1. India & China have mutually decided to hold the 15th round of Corps Commander level talks at the Indian side of Chushul Moldo Meeting Point on 11th of March.

2. Although India meets its energy requirement by importing 85% oil and 55% gas, Govt. ensure that there is no shortage of crude oil in the country following the current situation in Ukraine.

3. External Affairs Ministry on Tuesday said that all the Indian students stranded at Sumy city of Ukraine have been successfully moved out.

4. *OPERATION GANGA* : About 18,000 Indians stranded in Ukraine brought back by special flights so far.

5. International Flights to and from India to be resumed from 27th of March. The Civil Aviation Ministry has suspended the regular international flights in March 2020 in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

1. McDonald’s temporarily shuts Russian restaurants, says ‘can’t ignore suffering in Ukraine’

2. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he’s no longer pressing for NATO membership for Ukraine, an issue that was one of Russia’s stated reasons for invasion. “I’ve cooled down regarding this question a long time ago after we understood NATO isn’t prepared to accept Ukraine,” he stated. “The alliance is afraid of controversial things, and confrontation with Russia,” the President added.

3. Romania’s Health Minister Alexandru Rafila on Tuesday said the country will lift all COVID-19 restrictions from March 9, including an obligation to wear masks both indoors and outdoors.

4. US President Joe Biden has decided to ban Russian oil imports, he said during a live address as he announced actions to continue to hold Russia accountable over invasion of Ukraine. “We’re banning all imports of Russian oil and gas and energy. That means Russian oil will no longer be accepted at US ports,” he stated.

5. Latvian politician Juris Jurašs has joined the fight against Russia in Ukraine, his party confirmed on Tuesday. It was Jurašs’ “personal decision” to fight alongside Ukrainian soldiers, Latvian Justice Minister Jānis Bordāns said without revealing more information citing safety concerns. Last week, the Ukrainian President said that around 16,000 foreigners had volunteered to fight for Ukraine.

6. Pakistan’s Opposition parties have moved a no-confidence motion seeking the ouster of PM Imran Khan and accused him of mismanaging the economy and poor governance. “Resign in 24 hours…face us in…election,” Pakistan Peoples Party leader Bilawal Bhutto said during a rally.
