pm modi speaks to saudi crown prince discusses bilateral issues

1. President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday held a meeting with her Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade. Murmu, who is the first Indian President to visit Serbi.

2. President Droupadi Murmu has urged business leaders of Serbia to take advantage of large potential for trade and investment between two nations.

3. External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has slammed Canada over the celebration of the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. During an interaction with media in New Delhi. He said that space given to separatists, extremists, and people who advocate violence in Canada, is not good for its relationship with India.

6. Canadian parliamentary committee has voted unanimously to urge the country’s border agency to not deport the Indian students who are facing deportation due to their college admission letters being deemed fraudulent. The 700 affected students mostly hail from the state of Punjab. Canadian PM Justin Trudeau said that each case will be evaluated, stating that victims won’t be penalised.

1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 8 spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and thanked him for his country’s “excellent support” during the evacuation of Indians from Sudan in April, while also conveying best wishes for the upcoming Haj pilgrimage, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement. Mohammed bin Salman conveyed his full support to India’s initiatives as part of its ongoing G-20 Presidency and said he looked forward to his visit to India. During the telephonic conversation, the leaders reviewed a number of issues of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on various multilateral and global issues of mutual interest

2. Five countries have been elected as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council following a vote in the General Assembly. Algeria, Guyana, Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone and Slovenia will join the premier body for maintaining international peace.
