1. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar who is on his way to Russia is making a stopover in Tehran, Iran. The minister is on an official visit to Russia from July 7-9. This is the first visit to Iran by the minister after a regime change in that country. He will be meeting his counterpart Javad Zarif, and the talks will be related to the security situation in Afghanistan.
2. Indian Naval Ship Tabar this week participated in military exercises with a frontline frigate of the Italian Navy after it entered the Port of Naples as part of an ongoing deployment to the Mediterranean. The INS Tabar entered the Port of Naples on 3 July and was accorded a warm welcome by the Italian Navy.
3. Vistara starts direct flights to Japan
: Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, on 07 Jul (Wednesday) inaugurated its maiden direct flight to Tokyo. The inaugural flight departed Delhi at 3 am (Indian Standard Time) on 07 Jul and landed at Tokyo (Haneda) at 2.50 pm.

1. Pakistan is seeking armed drones from Turkey and is looking to deepen the already strong bilateral cooperation, especially in the defence arena, even as both countries align on key issues including Kashmir and Afghanistan.
2. Pakistan will reportedly receive 36 Chengdu J-10C multirole fighters, 4.5 gen advanced fighter Jets from China by the end of this year.

6. The first unit of the Maitree power project at Rampal in Bangladesh will be commissioned in December 2021 coinciding with the Golden jubilee celebration of the liberation of Bangladesh.
7. Earthquake tremors felt in Dhaka, other cities of Bangladesh, centered 7 km south of Lakhipur in Assam at a depth of 10 kilometer. 9.15 a.m. on 07 Jul (Wednesday) as an earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale.
