1. India has supplied COVID-19 related medical and other assistance to over 150 countries since the beginning of COVID-19 pandemic. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pawar said this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha
2. PANEX-21 is a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise.:It is a multi national disaster relief exercise. The exercise is to be held among the BIMSTEC countries: Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, India and Thailand. The main aim of the exercise is to build regional cooperation in responding to natural disasters. It is to be conducted in Pune from December 20 to December 22.
3. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla who is on two vist to Bangladesh to attend “Maitri Diwas”, marking 50 years of diplomatic relations met with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on 06 Dec and reviewed cooperation between the two countries on various aspects, including COVID-19.

1. Two people were killed when a gunman opened fire inside a public services office in Moscow on Tuesday, the mayor of the Russian capital Sergei Sobyanin said.
2. A Pakistan Army helicopter crashed in Siachen on Monday and both the pilots on board the aircraft died on the spot. The pilots have been identified as Major Irfan Bercha and Major Raza Zeeshan Jahanzeb
3. Russia sends new tanks to base in Tajikistan, practices missile defence
Russia said on Monday it was reinforcing its military base in Tajikistan with 30 new tanks and that its forces at the facility had carried out exercises with missile defence systems, highlighting Moscow’s concern about turmoil in Afghanistan.

5. Britain has detected 101 more cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant, according to the UK Health Security Agency on Tuesday. The total number of cases of the new variant in the UK rose to 437.
6. Comet Leonard, the brightest comet of 2021, will have its closest approach to Earth on December 12, a couple of weeks before it reaches its closest distance from the Sun.
