1. India has plans to design and build a new reusable rocket for the global market, that would significantly cut the cost of launching satellites, a senior Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) official said on Monday.

2. As India surpassed the UK to become the fifth-largest economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said, “Achieving this spot is special as we have left behind those who ruled over us for 250 years.” The PM was interacting with National Award-winning teachers. “Our new National Education Policy (NEP) is being applauded throughout the world,” PM Modi added.

3. India To Host QUAD Senior Officials Meeting Next Week. The first such Senior Official Meeting after the tensions over Taiwan Strait will be hosted by New Delhi, an official-level meeting of the Quad grouping with the U.S., Japan and Australia next week. The Quad Meeting that is scheduled on Sept 5-6 will be organised with India’s Indo-Pacific partners in the week.

4. Members of the G7 have agreed to impose a price cap on Russian oil in a bid to hit Moscow’s ability to finance the war in Ukraine. The cap on crude oil and petroleum products would also help reduce global energy prices. The cap will be set at a level based on a range of technical inputs.

1. UK Foreign Minister Liz Truss has been elected as the next Prime Minister of Britain and leader of the governing Conservative Party on Monday.

2. Britain’s Home Secretary Priti Patel on Monday announced she’s stepping down from her post, hours after Liz Truss was named the Prime Minister.

5. Two Russian diplomats killed along with several locals in blast outside Russian embassy in Kabul
In Afghanistan. A suicide bomber had detonated explosives near the entrance of the Russian Embassy on Darulaman Road in Kabul. The attacker was shot dead by armed guards as he approached the gate.

6. Amid tensions between Russia and the EU over the war in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has urged the people of his country to adopt energy-saving measures in order to avoid power cuts during winter.
