1. Amit Dasgupta was appointed as an Honorary Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for his service to the Australia-India bilateral relationship.

1. Liberation War fighters, constitutional experts and representatives of the minority groups have demanded that the government of Bangladesh should go back to the constitution of 1972 which did not specify any state religion. Speaking at a seminar organised by the Bangladesh Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday.
