1. PM Modi launches Global initiative ‘Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE) Movement through video conferencing; Calls for human centric and collective efforts that further sustainable development.

2. The programme also witnessed participation of Co-Chairman Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Bill Gates, Climate Economist Lord Nicholas Stern, Author of Nudge Theory Prof. Cass Sunstein, CEO and President World Resources Institute Aniruddha Dasgupta, UNEP Global Head Ms. Inger Andersen, UNDP Global Head Achim Steiner, World Bank President David Malpass among others.

3. World Environment Day is observed every year on the 5th of June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is – ‘Only One Earth’.

4. Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu who is in Qatar on the last leg of his ongoing three-nation tour, held delegation-level talks with Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar.

5. After Qatar and Kuwait, Iran has also summoned the Indian ambassador to condemn and reject a BJP leader’s remarks against Prophet Mohammed. The state media called it an “insult against Prophet of Islam in an Indian TV show”.

1. Spain will supply anti-aircraft missiles and tanks to Ukraine as it seeks to boost its military support to the country, according to government sources cited by a local newspaper.

2. Russia on Sunday said that it had destroyed tanks and armoured vehicles supplied to Ukraine by some eastern European countries during airstrikes on Kyiv, the first such strikes on the capital in weeks

3. 50 people have been killed in an attack by gunmen on a Catholic church in Nigeria’s Ondo state during mass on 05 June, Sunday.

4. Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday directed authorities to prepare an emergency plan to reduce load-shedding in the country.

5. Although China claimed that they have no intention of building a military base in Honiara however a secret leaked document depicts the contrary picture as it exposes China of its intentions to solidify its military presence in the Solomon Islands.
