1. US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has arrived in South Korea after concluding her visit to Taiwan. In South Korea, Ms Pelosi is scheduled to meet with Kim Jin-pyo, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
2. Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand said the country’s military trainers are going to the UK to teach Ukrainians on how to defend against invading Russian forces. As per plans, 225 Canadian Armed Forces personnel will be based in the UK for at least four months.
3. Russia will place an Iranian remote sensing satellite into orbit on August 9, the Roscosmos space agency said.
4. Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe on Thursday reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s commitment to the ‘One China’ policy. Countries must refrain from provocations that escalate global tensions, Wickremesinghe said after meeting China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong. His remarks come after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi concluded her visit to Taiwan, over which China had warned US of consequences.
