1. International Open Access Week is celebrated worldwide to create awareness about open-access scholarly publishing among researchers and publishers by CSIR-NIScPR. It is celebrated globally during the last full week of October.

2. Russia is India’s most reliable partner since the country gained independence in 1947, according to a survey by the New Delhi-based think tank Observer Research Foundation (ORF) with 43 per cent of the respondents pitching for Moscow followed by 27 per cent who named the United States.

3. Ministry of Industry and Commerce officials said in a bid to boost trade between Afghanistan and India it was decided to reopen the air corridor between the two countries.

1. West African country, Ghana assumes the rotating monthly Presidency of the United Nations Security Council. During the month of November 2022, Ghana shall preside over the meetings of the Council (adoptions, debates and consultations) and, under its authority, shall represent the Security Council in its capacity as an organ of the United Nations.

2. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reached Beijing for his two-day trip to China, the first such visit by a foreign leader since Chinese President Xi Jinping secured a historic third term. Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday held a meeting with Xi Jinping that focussed on expanding cooperation on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

3. Israel’s former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-religious bloc on Wednesday seems all set to make a dramatic comeback to power.The exit polls projected pro-Netanyahu parties may win up to 65 seats in the 120-member Parliament.

4. North and South Korea have both fired missiles , Nov 2, across their maritime border for the first time since the peninsula was divided. South Korea has said that it has conducted air-to-surface missile tests in response to North Korean missile launches. Seoul said Pyongyang’s firing was an unacceptable breach of its territory.

5. Bangladesh will liberally welcome foreign observers during the national elections of Bangladesh expected to be held towards the end of 2023 or January 2024, said Bangladesh Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal.

6. French Author Rene Naba has authored a new bilingual book in both French and English titled “De la Nucléarisation de l’Asie“(Nuclearization of Asia).
