1. The Startup20 Engagement Group, under the India G20 Presidency will host two day Startup20 Shikhar summit in Gurugram, Haryana.

2. PM Modi will chair the 22nd Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit of the council of heads of state to be hosted by India in virtual mode on Tuesday. New Delhi is expected to raise the concerns of the Global South (developing nations) at the summit in the context of emerging food, energy and fertiliser security challenges following the outbreak of the Ukraine conflict.

3. Top Taiwanese technology firms are looking to relocate their manufacturing bases to India to bring down their exposure to the Chinese market.

4. Reacting to former US President Barack Obama’s remark on religious minorities in India, American singer Mary Millben said it was “quite arrogant” of him to “make those comments during such a historic week in the US”. “Those comments…did upstage current President and…Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit,” she added. Obama had said India risks “pulling apart” if Muslim minority isn’t protected.

1. The US Supreme Court on Friday struck down President Joe Biden’s student loan debt relief plan. In a 6-3 decision, the court said the Biden administration overstepped its authority in trying to cancel or reduce student loans for millions of Americans.

2. Iran will be formally approved as a member of the regional Shanghai Cooperation Organisation with China, Russia and Central Asian countries.

3. U.S. approves sale of ammunition worth USD 440 million to Taiwan.

4. France: Nearly 700 people were arrested across the country on the fifth night of unrest sparked by the police killing of a teenager.

5. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Russia could blow up Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, which is Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, after handing it back to Ukraine.

6. A Thai elephant that was gifted to Sri Lanka over 20 years ago was airlifted back to Thailand on Sunday due to a diplomatic dispute over its alleged mistreatment. The 29-year-old elephant, Muthu Raj, was allegedly ill-treated at a Buddhist temple in southern Sri Lanka.

7. Four security personnel were killed on Sunday after unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpost in the Sherani district of Pakistan’s Baluchistan.

8. China has lodged a complaint to France over an alleged attack on a bus carrying Chinese tourists, during the intense protests that have gripped the nation over the fatal police shooting of a teenage boy.
