1. In Mann Ki Baat programme on Akashvani, Prime Minister Modi urges people to embrace spirit of unity while participating in Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj from the 13th of January 2025.

1. In Maharashtra, a massive fire engulfed two chemical units in Boisar MIDC in Palghar district on 28 Dec. The blaze, which began at the UK Aromatic and Chemical Company, quickly spread to an adjacent chemical unit in the Salwad Shivaji Nagar area. A firefighting operation controlled the fire.
2. Kerala, MLA representing Thrikkakara constituency in the State Assembly, Uma Thomas, was seriously injured after she suffered a fall from a height of about 15 ft from a gallery at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kochi.

Prime Minister was pleased to share that for the first time, the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit, WAVES Summit, is going to be organised in India next year.

1. The first commercial aircraft successfully landed yesterday on the runway of Navi Mumbai International Airport. The IndiGo A320, which took off from Mumbai Airport, made a direct landing at Navi Mumbai International Airport. Following the successful landing, the aircraft was given an air salute.
2. The Indian Air Force (IAF) is currently grappling with significant challenges regarding its fighter squadron strength, which has dwindled to 31 active squadrons, well below the authorized 42. This decline is primarily attributed to the retirement of older aircraft and delays in the induction of new models, particularly the TEJAS Mk-1A and Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) projects.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called upon the Armed Forces to continue keeping a vigilant eye on the current geopolitical scenario, and always remain alert and ready to deal with any kind of threats. Interacting with all ranks of the three institutes at Army War College during Badakhana in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, he lauded the valuable contribution of the training institutions of the Indian Army in making the personnel proficient in military strategies and skills of warfare.
4. Bangladesh has officially invited the Pakistan Army to conduct training for its military, marking the first such collaboration since the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. This training initiative is set to commence in February 2025 and will take place at various locations, starting with the Mymensingh Cantonment.
5. INS Tushil, a newly commissioned multi-role stealth guided missile frigate of the Indian Navy, has made a significant port call at Casablanca, Morocco, on December 27, 2024.
