1. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heat wave conditions over parts of east India, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh during the next four days. During the next two days, maximum temperature will rise by about 2 to 3 degree Celsius over East India. Heat wave will also prevail over Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, Punjab and Haryana.
2. Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi met President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and staked claim to form the government. He will take the oath for the third term at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Sunday evening. The President will administer the oath to Narendra Modi and his new cabinet.
3. NDA Parliamentary Party unanimously elected Narendra Modi as its leader. Senior BJP Leader, Rajnath Singh moved a proposal to elect Narendra Modi as NDA leader and it was supported by the leaders of all NDA allies. He was also elected as the leader of BJP in Lok Sabha, and BJP parliamentary party.
4. The government of Haryana recently made a major change to the “Mukhyamantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jeevan Suraksha Yojana,” a program that helps farmers and farm workers get money.
5. The notification for election to three seats of Rajya Sabha in Kerala has been issued. The tenure of CPI leader Binoy Biswam, CPI (M) leader Elamaram Kareem and KC (M) leader Jose K Mani is ending on 1st of July.
6. Notification for bypoll to one seat from Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha was also issued. The seat has been vacant due to resignation of NCP leader Praful Patel. Nominations can be filed for the seats in Kerala and Maharashtra till 13th of this month. Polling will be held on 25th June.
7. Aam Aadmi Party has said that it will contest the Delhi Assembly elections alone. A meeting of all the party MLA was held at the Chief Minister’s residence in the national capital.
8. A senior assistant loco pilot Aiswarya S Menon from Chennai railway division has been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Union cabinet in New Delhi on Sunday. Currently, driving the Vande Bharat Express, Menon was selected because she has completed more than two lakh footplate hours piloting various trains, including Vande Bharat Express and Jan Shatabdi.
9. Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) chief executive officer (CEO) Videh Kumar Jaipuriar on Friday said that the airport is aiming to increase its international passenger handling capacity by 40% to 50%, with more international airlines wanting to connect with India. The airport has a maximum capacity handling of around 105 million passengers, and the international passenger capacity is around 22 million.
10. In a historic mandate, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi registered victory on two of the Lok Sabha seats he contested – Wayanad in Kerala and Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh.
What happens if a candidate wins both seats ?
As per the Section 33(7) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, any Member of Parliament when elected from two constituencies has tor resign from one of them within 14 days of the results, failing which both seats will fall vacant.
11. In Uttar Pradesh, Congress and Samajwadi Party alliance won 43 out of the 80 seats.
12. Sanitation workers, transgenders, and labourers who worked on the Central Vista Project will be among the special guests at the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi.

1. In the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, five Maoists were killed in an encounter. Their bodies have been recovered from the spot. The encounter took place on the border of Narayanpur and Dantewada district.
2. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the property of a member associated with Popular Front of India (PFI) in connection with murder of a Hindu Front leader in Coimbatore in 2016. According to the NIA, the property of accused Subair has been attached on orders of the NIA Special Court, Poonamallee, Chennai.
Subair, along with other co-accused were involved in the gruesome killing of C Sasikumar who was the spokesperson of Hindu Front, Coimbatore.
3. The Government has imposed a curfew in Jiribam, a border town in Manipur, following a decline in law and security conditions. The situation arose after a person, who had gone to his farm, was found dead with wounds inflicted by a sharp object.
4. Congress has slammed the government’s move to relocate the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar from their original positions in the Parliament House complex.
However, Lok Sabha Secretariat has denied the allegations of shifting of the statues. It said, the statues are being installed systematically and respectfully inside the Parliament House complex.
5. A Bengaluru court has given conditional bail to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The bail is against his allegations made against the previous BJP Government in the state accusing it of being the 40% Government.
6. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a conclusive charge sheet against Lalu Prasad Yadav and 77 others in the land-for-job case.
7. The Karnataka High Court has granted conditional interim anticipatory bail to rape accused Prajwal Revanna’s mother, Bhavani Revanna.
Revanna, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, also lost the Hassan Lok Sabha seat to Shreyas Patel of the Congress on June 4 with a margin of 42,649 votes.

1. The Reserve Bank has proposed to bring an auto-replenishment facility for UPI Lite wallet. Accordingly, if the balance in the UPI wallet goes below a threshold amount set by the customer, the fund will move from his/her account to the wallet without additional authentication or pre-debit notification.
2. The RBI has said, it is considering to set up a Digital Payments Intelligence Platform to mitigate payment fraud risks. In this regard, the central bank has constituted a committee under the Chairmanship of former MD and CEO of National Payments Corporation of India, Mr. A P Hota to examine its various aspects. The Committee is expected to give its recommendations within two months.
3. The Reserve Bank of India decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 6.50% for the eighth time in a row. Consequently, the standing deposit facility (SDF) rate remains at 6.25% and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate at 6.75 per cent.
4. India’s foreign exchange reserves have surged by 4.83 billion dollars to touch a new lifetime high of 651.5 billion dollars in the week ended 31st May.
5. Software company Zoho, aiming to tap into India’s aspirations to become a global semiconductor player, has applied with a partner to set up a semiconductor manufacturing facility in India. Co-founder Sridhar Vembu confirmed the move, citing a stringent evaluation process.
6. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) announced that it has received the letter of intent (LOI) for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the container facility at the Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata.
The Kolkata port is the nominated port for the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade route. Netaji Subhas Dock has regular liner service calls from the hub ports of Singapore, Port Kelang and Colombo.

1. 18th Mumbai International Film Festival will be held in Mumbai from 15th to 21st of this month.

Those who hold the Overseas Citizen of India can also send aid to the foundation.
However, Non-resident Indians (NRIs), who still hold an Indian passport, are not applicable under this license.
