1. GANESH CHATURTHI is celebrated across the nation with immense enthusiasm to honour Lord Ganesha, son of Shiva and Parvati. This year, the celebration will take place over ten days, starting on September 7.

According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious time to welcome home Lord Ganesha on Chaturthi Tithi will start at 03:01 PM on September 6, and end at 05:37 PM on September 07. The auspicious puja muhurat time will start from 11:03 AM to 01:34 PM on 7 September, 2024.

2. The India Meteorological Department – IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Gujarat, Maharashtra and East Rajasthan for the next two days. The IMD said that very heavy rainfall will prevail over Konkan and Goa today, along with Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Odisha tomorrow.

11. Ministry of Tourism develops first ever nation wide Intellectual Property, ‘Dekho Apna Desh, People’s Choice 2024 : It is open until the 15th of this month. The aim of the nation-wide poll is to engage with citizens to identify the most preferred tourist attraction sites and understand tourist perceptions across five tourism categories, which are spiritual, cultural heritage, nature, wildlife, adventure, and others. The others category will allow citizens to vote for their personal favourites, which will help in discovering unexplored tourist places in the country.

12. Zero Hour is set to be introduced in the Himachal Assembly as announced by Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania. The introduction follows a discussion on the necessity of framing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) before its implementation.

15. Himachal Pradesh government would bear only 28 per cent cost of Rs 1,734.70 crore Shimla Innovative Urban Transportation Ropeway Network Project, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said in the state assembly on Thursday.

The 13.65 km long Ropeway from Tara Devi to Shimla would be executed on EPS (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) mode.

1. Road Accident In Uttar Pradesh : At least 12 people died and 16 injured on Friday (September 6, 2024) after a roadway’s bus hit a van in Hathras. The incident happened on National Highway 93 when passengers of the van were returning to village Sewala after a ritual from Hathras. It is believed that the many injured are in serious condition and the death toll may rise further.

2. Five members of a family in Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh were on Friday attacked by a wolf. The incident took place at 2:30am in Malgaon village in tribal-dominated Khalwa tehsil, some 20 kilometres from the district headquarters.

1. India has overtaken China in terms of its weightage in the Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) Emerging Markets Investable Market Index during this month. 1. The Greatest of All Time or GOAT, Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film makes Rs 43 cr in India. The film was not released in national multiplex chains due to the makers’ failure to adhere to the theatrical guidelines. As per these guidelines, makers of all new Hindi movies will have to maintain an 8-week gap between the theatrical release and the premiere on OTT platforms.

Moreover, the film opened to mixed reviews from the audience. While some appreciated Thalapathy Vijay’s performance in a double role, others called the film out on its wafer thin plot.

2. Today is the Birthday of Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail (born 7 September 1951), is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Malayalam-language films. 1. A successful launch of an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4 was carried out from Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha yesterday. Defence Ministry said, the launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters. It said, the launch was conducted under the aegis of Strategic Forces Command.

2. The Indian Navy’s frontline warship INS Tabar participated in the 22nd edition of India-France Bilateral Exercise VARUNA in the Mediterranean Sea . The Indian Navy was represented by the shipborne helicopter LRMR Aircraft P8I, whereas the French side was represented by FS Provence, Submarine Suffren, Aircraft F20, Atlantique 2, fighters MB339, and helicopters NH90, Dauphin. The exercise concluded on Wednesday. VARUNA highlights the commitment of Indian and French Navies towards enhancing interoperability through collaborative efforts.

The bilateral exercise VARUNA began in 2001 to strengthen the India-France relationship and has evolved significantly over the years towards exchanging best practices.

3. The Indian Navy is set to induct high-explosive pre-formed fragmentation (HEPF) shells to combat drone swarms. These advanced shells are capable of destroying drones within a five-kilometer range, offering a significant boost to the Navy’s defense capabilities.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) recently handed over the production documents for the 30mm HEPF shells to the Director General of Naval Armament Inspection.
