1. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will confer Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for the Years 2022 and 2023 to ninety-four eminent artists in New Delhi. The awards will be given in the field of music, dance, drama, folk and tribal arts, puppetry and allied theatre art forms. Besides the Akademi Awards, President Murmu will also bestow the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship (Akademi Ratna) to seven eminent artists in the ceremony.
2. PM Modi will inaugurate India’s first underwater metro rail service in Kolkata. The new metro line, called the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade section, will be the country’s first transportation tunnel beneath a major river. It passes beneath the River Hooghly, which separates Kolkata and Howrah cities on its east and west banks.
total 16.6 kilometers of the East-West Metro, 10.8 kilometers consist of an underground corridor between Howrah Maidan and Phoolbagan, including the tunnel beneath the Hooghly River, while the remaining stretch is elevated.
3. 5. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated 201 CNG Stations in 17 States. He also inaugurated India’s first Small Scale LNG Unit of Gas Authority of India Limited, GAIL at its Vijaipur LPG plant in Madhya Pradesh. The inauguration of the CNG stations was done through video conferencing at a function in New Delhi in the presence of Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli.
6. Uttar Pradesh Cabinet expanded with induction of four new ministers. Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath of office to BJP’s Sunil Sharma, Dara Singh Chauhan, among allies Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party chief Om Prakash Rajbhar and RLD’s Anil Kumar in a ceremony at Raj Bhavan.
7. Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has achieved a milestone by becoming the first state in the country to issue five crore Ayushman cards. This accomplishment underscores the state government’s commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of every citizen. The state of Uttar Pradesh has issued 50,017,920 Ayushman cards, benefiting 74,382,304 individuals.
8. Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers and Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, virtually inaugurated three centers of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) from New Delhi. These centers, located in Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh, are significant additions to CIPET’s network.
9. Union Minister for Steel and Civil Aviation, Sh. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, virtually inaugurated India’s 1st Green Hydrogen Plant in Stainless Steel Sector located at Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar, on 4th March, 2024.
10. Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday submitted a wish list on 11 issues to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while seeing him off at the Begumpet Airport, for a slew of projects and fund sharing with the Centre, besides helping in interstate issues.
11. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday inaugurated Bhavitha, a programme aimed at a vibrant skill development ecosystem, which equips youth with the wherewithal to meet the growing needs of the industry.

1. Kolkata High Court orders Transfer of Probe into Attack on Enforcement Directorate officials in Sandeshkhali to CBI.
2. The Enforcement Directorate attaches assets worth ₹12.78 crore under PMLA in a probe against TMC leader Shahjahan Seikh. The seized properties include 14 immovable assets and two bank accounts. The investigation was initiated based on FIRs by the West Bengal Police for serious offences.
3. The National Investigation Agency, NIA conducted raids at multiple locations in seven states as part of its investigations in the Bengaluru Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Prison radicalisation case. The raids were conducted at the premises of suspects at various places in the States including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Punjab, Gujarat and West Bengal in which a host of digital devices and incriminating documents were seized. NIA team recovered 25 mobile phones, 6 laptops and 4 storage devices, besides various incriminating documents and cash, apart from the currency notes of various countries.
4. Six Congress MLAs, who were disqualified after they cross-voted in the recent Rajya Sabha polls in Himachal Pradesh, moved the Supreme Court on Tuesday against their disqualification.
5. Bombay high court on Tuesday set aside the life sentence of Delhi University professor G N Saibaba in an alleged Maoist links case, noting that the prosecution failed to prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt.

1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given the nod for implementing an interoperable payment system for internet banking transactions. This move is expected to streamline the digital payments ecosystem in India, making it easier for customers to pay businesses through net banking, regardless of whether their banks and the merchants’ payment aggregators are integrated.
2. In a significant move to protect citizens from financial fraud, the Indian government has launched a digital platform called Chakshu. Developed by the Department of Telecommunication, this platform enables individuals to report fraudulent calls and text messages.
3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken stern action against IIFL Finance by imposing an immediate ban on the approval and disbursement of gold loans. This directive comes following a comprehensive inspection of the company’s financial position as of March 31, which revealed significant supervisory concerns in its gold loan portfolio.
4. The Reserve Bank of India has given its approval for the merger of Fincare Small Finance Bank Ltd. with AU Small Finance Bank, effective from April 1. The merger is sanctioned under Section 44A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

1. Google has agreed to restore all the recently de-listed Indian apps from its app market, Play Store. Talking to media in New Delhi, Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed this after having a meeting with representatives from Google and the affected app developers over the issue.
2. Mammootty-starrer ‘Bramayugam’ is continuing its successful run in theatres, with the film collecting over all gross collection Rs 60 crore & Rs. 23 crore from Kerala in the past three weeks. Now, as per reports, the film surpassed ‘Abraham Ozler’ to become the third highest-grossing film in Kerala in 2024, after ‘Manjummel Boys’ and ‘Premalu’.

1. The Indian Navy swiftly responded to a drone strike on a Liberian-flagged commercial vessel in the Gulf of Aden by Houthi militants. INS Kolkata provided prompt assistance, ensuring safety and conducting a risk assessment.The Indian Navy on Tuesday said it “swiftly” responded in assisting a Liberian-flagged commercial vessel after it came under a drone strike in the Gulf.
2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said the Indian Navy has ensured that no country with its overwhelming economic and military power can suppress India’s friendly countries in the Indo-Pacific region. Due to the Navy’s readiness, India is fulfilling its responsibility very well and providing full help to allied countries in the Indian Ocean.
3. The pediatric cardiology team of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), in an extraordinary medical achievement, successfully performed a high risk transcatheter (non-surgical) lifesaving cardiac procedure at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in Delhi Cantt.
This procedure was performed on an eight-year-old civilian boy from Baramullah, Jammu & Kashmir, who had a critical narrowing of Aorta.
4. The Indian Army implemented a new Human Resource (HR) policy on 1 January 2024 that allows ranks higher than Lieutenant Colonels to continue working in the field. Earlier, only about 30 to 40 per cent of Lt Colonels would become Colonels as the requirement for them was to assume command positions by leaving their specialisation domains.
However, now the Indian Army wants to retain specialist officers in fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), space, Information Technology (IT), nanotechnology, robotics and weapons design, etc. Lt Colonel Prasad Bansod has become the first beneficiary of this new HR policy and has now been promoted to the rank of Colonel while being on deputation with the DRDO’s small arms laboratory.
5. Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched Acing Development of Innovative Technologies with iDEX (ADITI) scheme to promote innovations in critical and strategic defence technologies, during DefConnect 2024 in New Delhi.
Under the scheme, start-ups are eligible to receive grant-in-aid of up to Rs 25 crore for their research, development, and innovation endeavours in defence technology.
6. A nine-member delegation of Border Security Force (BSF) led by Director General (DG) Nitin Agrawal reached Dhaka to attend the 54th DG-level BGB-BSF Border Conference. The conference is from March 5th to 9th at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters in Dhaka.
7. Sub-Inspector Suman Kumari has etched her name in history as the first woman sniper of the Border Security Force (BSF). Her recent completion of an eight-week intensive sniper course at the Central School of Weapons and Tactics (CSWT) in Indore not only showcases her exceptional abilities but also her pioneering spirit. Suman achieved the prestigious ‘instructor grade’, a testament to her proficiency and expertise.
8. Two trainee pilots were injured as a small aircraft of the Indian Army landed on a field in Bihar’s Gaya district on Tuesday morning. The microlight aircraft of the Army’s Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) landed on the field in Bagdaha village’s Paharpur in Bodh Gaya sub-division around 9.15 am.
