3. Union minister Chirag Paswan, chief of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) on Sunday announced that he will contest the upcoming Bihar assembly election, saying that he was doing so for the state’s “better future” and to realise his father Ram Vilas Paswan’s dreams.

4. Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, today inaugurated the state-of-the-art Phenome India ‘National Biobank’ at the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in New Delhi.

8. ‘Suna Besha’, gold appearance of Bhagwaan Jagannath, Bhagwaan Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra held in the holy city of Puri, Odisha on yesterday evening. The deities, positioned on their respective chariots, will be embellished with gold jewelries after the daily rituals.

9. The fifth batch comprising 7208 pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu for the Kashmir valley yesterday morning.

10. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the state government will invest 25,000 crore rupees in the agriculture sector over the next five years.

1. Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya has approached the Karnataka High Court challenging the state government and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for allegedly withholding the report of the Metro Fare Fixation Committee (FFC), which recommended a steep fare hike.

2. The Supreme Court administration has written a letter to the Union government seeking immediate direction for removal of former Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud from his official residence, keeping in view the fact that he has stayed in the official residence, keeping in view the fact that he has stayed in the official residence beyond the permissible period.

3. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has moved the Supreme Court, challenging an order by the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding a Special Intensive Revision, or SIR, of electoral rolls in Bihar. It is pertinent to mention that Bihar goes to the polls later this year.

The EC on June 24 issued instructions to carry out an SIR in Bihar, apparently to weed out ineligible names and ensure only eligible citizens are included in the electoral roll.

1. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to inaugurate the Controllers’ Conference 2025 in New Delhi on Monday. The three-day conference is being hosted by the Defence Accounts Department (DAD).

The Ministry of Defence, in a statement, said that the event will feature eight high-level business sessions, covering areas such as budget and accounts reform, internal audit restructuring, collaborative research, pricing innovation, and capacity building.

2. The eighth edition of Indian Navy’s apex meeting on safety, the Annual Safety Review 2025, was conducted at Southern Naval Command, Kochi from 02 – 03 Jul 25. The meeting held in hybrid mode (both online and offline) was attended by officers from NHQ, representatives from all Commands.

3. Indian Navy has started the registration process for INCET 2025 on July 5, 2025. Candidates who want to appear for Indian Navy Civilian Entrance Test 2025 can find the registration link through the official website of Indian Navy at joinindiannavy.gov.in
The last date to apply for the exam is 18 July 2025.
